My Bupa Onboarding: TechVision, Savannah27 and the Jagjeevan Mindset

A new beginning, a familiar purpose
It has been a month since I began my journey with Bupa as Head of Engineering at Bupa Capability Centre (BCC), India.
As I work through onboarding, and learn more about Bupa, I find a strong connection between its purpose and my personal philosophy: Jagjeevan — Living Larger Than Life📕.
That connection became even clearer at Bupa’s TechVision event in Manchester, UK.

It turned out to be one of those experiences that does more than introduce you to an organisation. It helps you understand why the work matters.
TechVision 2026: Technology with purpose
Bringing together hundreds of colleagues from BGIUK and Group Functions, TechVision 2026 offered a compelling view of Bupa’s technology vision.
The leadership keynotes, workshops, and showcases reinforced the importance of owning customer experience, connecting the healthcare ecosystem, and scaling responsibly.
Bupa’s Savannah27 strategy and its bold (3x100) ambitions reflect the scale of its aspirations. For me, the opportunity is to translate that vision into meaningful engineering outcomes.
Technology is not about innovation for innovation’s sake. It must solve real problems, earn trust, and create lasting value.
An impactful workshop
One clinical workshop particularly stayed with me. Doctors and nurses demonstrated ICU scenarios, highlighting the precision and timeliness required when monitoring patients.
As engineers, we talk about uptime, latency, resilience, and data accuracy. In healthcare, these are more than technical metrics. A delay, an unreliable system, or incorrectly represented data can have serious consequences.
Having spent years building solutions and exploring emerging technologies, including through my book 📕 Exploring the Metaverse, this experience reinforced an essential lesson:
Innovation is not just about what technology can do. It is about what people can safely depend on it to do.
In healthcare, reliability is a responsibility. Trust is fundamental. Human life is the bigger purpose.
Own. Connect. Scale.
Three principles resonated strongly with me throughout TechVision:
- Own: Take responsibility for outcomes, not just deliverables.
- Connect: Bring people, systems, and the healthcare ecosystem together through collaboration and trust.
- Scale: Build for scale, extend the impact of technology without compromising reliability, security, or quality.
These principles are especially relevant to our work at Bupa Capability Centre, India, as we contribute to Bupa’s wider technology vision.
They also reflect how I believe we should approach life and leadership.
Jagjeevan: Living larger than life
My book, 📕Jagjeevan: Living Larger Than Life, is a tribute to Shri Jagguram and the timeless values: humility, discipline, compassion, responsibility, resilience, and purpose.
Its central message is simple:
A meaningful life is measured not only by what we achieve, but by the positive difference we make to others.
I see a natural connection between these values and Bupa’s purpose:
Helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives and making a better world.
Jagjeevan is a philosophy of life; Bupa gives me an opportunity to put that philosophy into practice through my work.

Connections beyond the workplace
Away from the Techvision stage, I had the pleasure of sharing signed copies of Jagjeevan with a few colleagues in London. It was wonderful to connect over personal values, purpose, and the journey ahead.
The Manchester experience also included a memorable tour of Old Trafford — from the legendary dressing room to the players’ entrance. A fantastic experience for a football MU fan!

And joining a healthcare organisation has been another reminder to prioritise my own wellbeing. Continuing to run through the streets of Manchester and London has become a rewarding part of this new chapter.
A new chapter, a shared purpose
My first month at Bupa has reinforced something important: technology, leadership, and life become more meaningful when connected to a purpose bigger than ourselves.
As I continue my journey, I look forward to learning, collaborating, and contributing to Bupa’s technology ambitions.
👉 Own with responsibility.
👉 Connect with empathy.
👉 Scale with purpose.
👉 Live larger than life.
Here’s to a new chapter with Bupa — and to making a meaningful difference together.
Wishing Jagjeevan to Bupa, and to all of us.
