DJXHack 2025 was an inspiring hackathon organized by DJX Labs, attracting students and professionals from across institutions. Out of many applicants, 30 XR enthusiasts were shortlisted to participate and showcase innovative ideas in extended reality (XR).

I had the honor of being invited as a speaker, where I shared my thoughts on how AI is fostering artificial sense in the XR world. Grateful to be a part of such an impactful event.

Special thanks to Saumik Trivedi for the kind invitation, and it was a pleasure to share the stage with brilliant minds like Akshat Verma from Microsoft and Nikhil Joshi from DJX Labs.

🎤 Highlights from the Event

The central theme was bringing XR into everyday life—how AI is reshaping our interaction with digital and physical spaces.

💡 Keynote Insights

• 🔷Akshat Verma - Akshat spoke about AI-backed creativity and rapid prototyping, showcasing tools like Lovable that bring ideas to life at the speed of thought. He highlighted how generative AI streamlines product development cycles.
• 🔷Nikhil Joshi - Nikhil shared DJX Labs’ vision and the importance of using XR as a purpose-driven technology, rather than chasing trends. His advice: “Don’t overfit technology—solve real problems.” He also discussed DJX’s ongoing XR initiatives tackling real-world use cases.

🔍 My Talk: Fostering Artificial Sense in the XR World

I focused on how AI is enhancing perception and cognition in XR. Below are the core themes I covered:

• Understanding the XR Ecosystem - Unpacking XR’s potential to extend our environments, trends in immersive tech, common myths, and emerging realities.
• AI-Powered Perception - How machine learning helps XR systems understand spatial context, gestures, and semantics—enabling a truly artificial sense.
• Empowering Human Communication - From education and customer support to marketing and consulting—how AI+XR is revolutionizing human interaction.
• Boosting Productivity - AI-augmented XR workflows are transforming efficiency and decision-making in complex, high-stakes environments.
• Pushing Boundaries of Imagination - Exploring how AI and XR can recreate presence—before realization, and even after life. Reimagining creativity, memory, and legacy.
• Balancing Innovation with Responsibility - Consideration of the side effects and ethical implications of this evolution—and how to act consciously while designing immersive systems.

I also introduced the concept of Generative XR, where spatial-aware AI agents become collaborators in immersive storytelling, training, and experiences. (More on this in Generative XR →)
