AI/works™: AI that works by Thoughtworks
- 3 minutes read - 507 wordsIt’s been more than eight years since I joined Thoughtworks—a company known for sharing practical, experience-driven insights on technology and business with the world.
Thoughtworks has long stood for doing what works in the real world. From its contribution to the Agile Manifesto—which reshaped how software is built to be more adaptive, collaborative, and customer-centric—to continuously sharing learnings from the field, the focus has always been on outcomes, not theory.
What initially drew me in was curiosity: How does agility actually work on the ground?
What I experienced exceeded expectations. I saw teams deeply embracing Agile that works principle and strong engineering practices to consistently deliver high-quality software. Thoughtworks Technology Radar is another great example of this philosophy—capturing insights distilled from hundreds of real-world projects and making them accessible to the broader tech community.
What Works Is the Key
On the occasion of Thoughtworks’ 30th anniversary, I shared an eBook titled “My Thoughtworkings”—a collection of 30 guiding thoughts that works for me from 30 thoughtworkers.
At its core, the idea is simple: What works matters more than what sounds good.

Thoughtworks has always evolved with changing needs. After decades of influencing global software development practices, the organization is now shaping the next chapter—AI that works, a new era of Agile, and next-generation software development.
This vision has taken form with the launch of AI/works™.
AI/works™ : An Agentic Development Platform
AI/works™ introduces a new software development lifecycle designed for the AI era. The breakthrough here isn’t just technical—it’s economic.
The old model forced organizations to spend millions to build systems, pay again to maintain them, and then rebuild as they aged. AI/works™ breaks this cycle.
More details about AI/works™ can be found on the Thoughtworks AI/works™ page.
