Patent Granted: Square orientation for stereoscopic rendering
- 2 minutes read - 235 wordsIn our day-to-day work, we often create methods, processes, approaches, or features to address specific needs and challenges. Sometimes, these solutions turn into significant innovations, even if we don’t immediately recognize them as such. This is also true in our professional work setup, where we may invent without fully realizing it.
I’m thrilled to share that a new patent has been granted to Lenovo for their groundbreaking work in the ThinkReality XR product line, and I am honored to be a co-inventor on this work.
Patent No : US 12,081,729 B2
This patent, titled _“Square orientation for presentation of content stereoscopically”, introduces a square orientation for rendering 2D phone apps into stereoscopic/3D environment. Square orientation nullify the impact of phone’s orientation, and render phone apps smoothly.
This invention was developed for Lenovo’s award-winning mixed reality smart glasses, the ThinkReality A3.
This innovation allows enterprises to use phone applications on XR devices and interact with them in new, innovative ways without altering the 2D phone apps. Part of this solution is also available in the ThinkReality VRX, which supports various enterprise XR features such as Device Enrollment to Intune and VMWare.
