Jagjeevan Reaches the Temple of Democracy – Parliament of India
- 5 minutes read - 910 wordsIn continuation of sharing Jagjeevan doses — moments of reflection inspired by 📕 Jagjeevan: Living Larger Than Life — the journey of this book reached a deeply meaningful milestone: the Parliament of India.
It was an honour to present the book to Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Hon’ble Minister of State (IC) for Law & Justice and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India, who also graciously wrote the foreword for the book.

Standing inside the Parliament — often called the Temple of Democracy — was not merely a visit. It was an experience of history, responsibility, and national spirit coming alive.
Sharing glimpse here:
The Foreword — Jagjeevan: Living Larger Than Life
It was a privilege to personally hand over hard copies of Jagjeevan to Shri Meghwal Ji at his office in Parliament House.
Beyond his public service, he is also a thoughtful writer and intellectual voice. His encouragement played an important role in motivating me to document the life story that eventually became Jagjeevan.
Below is an excerpt from his insightful foreword:
Biographies of great personalities not only reveal their life’s struggle but also inspire the readers to follow the ideals of truth and dedication for the service to humanity. The life of such people is like a lighthouse which shows path to the society and serves as a guide for the coming generations.
The book titled ‘Jagjeevan: Living Larger Than Life’ written by Shri Kuldeep Singh is biography of the author’s maternal great grandfather, late Shri Jagguram, which teaches us that only with courage and faith one can overcome impossibilities. While writing the book, the author’s childhood memories come alive in his mind and he remembers the name ‘Dalip’ given to him by his maternal great grandfather which makes him emotional. ‘Dalip’ for the author is not just a name but for him it is his life.
With his firm determination, strength of character and foresightedness, the author’s maternal great grandfather, Shri Jaggu Ram, not only influenced the society in which he lived but also became a source of inspiration for the generations to come. In this book, the author has described the values and ideals that his maternal great grandfather Shri Jagguram actually followed during his life.
This book documents those extraordinary aspects of human life that have successfully passed the touchstone of time. Biography of Shri Jagguram, described in a total of ten chapters of the book, not only helps us understand the challenges and circumstances of his era, but also inspires us to achieve higher goals in our lives. This book is the author’s tribute to his maternal great grandfather who set an example in his life which can motivate readers to explore and unlock their inherent potential and creativity. I hope this book will not only inspire readers but also encourage them to adopt higher ideals and bring about positive changes in their lives.

Parliament Visit — Witnessing Democracy in Action
Along with presenting the book, I had the rare opportunity to witness Lok Sabha proceedings from the public gallery.
Watching the nation’s elected representatives debate and deliberate in real time was fascinating. The atmosphere felt very different from television — more human, more dynamic, and deeply reflective of India’s diversity. Seeing the Speaker manage discussions among leaders representing countless perspectives was a powerful reminder of democratic responsibility.
The Minister’s office and staff extended warm hospitality. I was accompanied by my cousin Mukesh Kumar, a member of the Minister’s team, along with my wife during the visit.

We also explored several cultural galleries within the Parliament complex, each showcasing the civilizational diversity of India. Visiting the old Parliament building and the historic Central Hall was particularly moving — a space that witnessed independence debates, constitutional discussions, and the shaping of modern India.
Standing there, one cannot help but feel connected to the long journey of the nation. It truly felt like saying:
🇮🇳🇮🇳 Jagjeevan India — Long Live India! 🇮🇳🇮🇳
Sharing Jagjeevan with the Parliament Family
I sincerely acknowledge the warmth and support extended by the Minister’s team.
Special thanks to Mukesh Kumar, who thoughtfully coordinated the visit and has also been among the early readers of the book. It was a joy signing copies of Jagjeevan for the staff members — including Rajeev Ji, Tejaram Ji, and others who showed genuine curiosity about the story and its lessons.

Moments like these reaffirm why the book was written — to spark conversations, reflection, and inspiration across communities.
